Jaap de Wilde holds a MSc. in Applied Physics at University Twente in the Netherlands (1991). He joined MARIN research centre in 1998, where he presently has the position of Senior Project Manager at the Offshore department. He started his career in hydrodynamics and model testing career at Delft Hydraulics in 1991. Subjects of his special interest are risers VIV and operability of LNG side-by-side offloading. He has published about 25 conference papers. From 2005 to 2008 he was representing MARIN in the Ocean Engineering Committee of the 25th ITTC. Jaap de Wilde has worked on several Joint Industry Project on offshore related hydrodynamics subjects. He is presently working on the launching of the MARIN Wind Force JIP and the MARIN VIM JIP.
