Our board does not only vouch for providing the best research but also ensures that our research remains impartial and reliable. By combining the advice from our departments with the supervision of our external advisors, such as the Supervisory Board and MARIN Stakeholders Association, we ensure our leading position as a reliable, independent research institution.

SUPERVISORY BOARD

The MARIN Supervisory Board supervises our operations, development strategy, budget and annual financial statements and administers the agreement with the external auditor. The Supervisory Board ensures that the management and control of MARIN’s operations and administration are satisfactory and conducted in accordance with legislation, agreements and decisions.

The Board consists of seven members and a representative of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, all appointed for a five year term by the Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate. The current Supervisory Board consists of the following people:

MSA | MARIN STAKEHOLDERS ASSOCIATION

The MARIN Stakeholders Association (MSA) was founded in 2003 to strengthen ties between MARIN and the maritime sector. The companies involved and the municipality of Wageningen have formed a guarantee fund for MARIN. They are also active members of the MARIN Advisory Board, which also includes scientists and representatives of the Dutch Ministries of Defence, Infrastructure and Water Management, and Economic Affairs and Climate.
