Ship resistance and propulsion are principal factors affecting the fuel efficiency of maritime transport. To be able to accurately predict a ship's resistance and the propulsion efficiency, a good understanding of scale effects is a prerequisite. Here we show two examples of how MARIN's modern CFD techniques can help analyse the sensitivity to scale effects.
