Determination of propeller source strength from hull-pressure measurements

This paper presents a computational technique for the determination of the propeller source strength given a set of hull-pressure measurements. The technique is based on an acoustic boundary element method for inverse scattering. Once the propeller source strength is found a forward scattering computation is performed to derive the complete hull-pressure distribution from which vibratory excitation forces are readily computed.
