Who are we looking for? An enthusiastic colleague with a degree in maritime technology (or similar), knowledgeable in naval architecture, experience with scientific software, and a particular interest in manoeuvring. You like to work on acquisition, are eager to manage projects with attention for schedule and budget, and apply your commercial skills. You have or will develop the skills to conduct experimental studies in our basins and time domain simulations using our software tools. You have good reporting and presentation skills, with a strong command of the English language and are willing to learn Dutch if it is not your native language. You should be able to identify and initiate improvements and give pro-active advice to clients.
Who will your colleagues be? You will be working within the Ships department, which consists of around 100 persons in several smaller teams. Within the Transport & Shipping team, your projects will focus on the manoeuvring aspects of both sea-going and inland waterway vessels.
What will your work involve? The work will require excellence in using all type of methodologies available at MARIN: both numerical simulations and manoeuvring experiments in our basins. The role involves aspects such as: development of proposals, contact with the client, project management , technical implementation, interpretation of the results and reporting, as well as acquisition, new business development and research in the field of ship manoeuvrability.
