Who will be your colleagues?
You will join the On Board Specialists (OBS) team within the Performance at Sea department. The OBS team consists of six specialists and project managers who work closely together to deliver onboard measurements, troubleshoot operational problems, and develop innovative onboard services.

What will you be doing?
You will take the lead in for acquiring, managing and delivering a variety of projects on board ships, covering:
  • Performance measurements, such as delivery trials or cavitation observations.
  • Troubleshooting at sea, including excessive vibrations, structural damages or issues with marine systems.
  • Developing innovative onboard measurement techniques.

Your work will bring you close to real vessel operations: from ship visits and sea trials to direct collaboration with clients. You will use cutting-edge sensor technology, onboard data analysis and MARIN tools to provide our clients with clear insights and practical recommendations. At the same time, you will work alongside MARIN’s research teams to further develop and innovate onboard measurement services and methodologies.

Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a motivated early-career professional with a Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.

You recognize yourself in the following qualities:
  • Flexible, solution-oriented team player who stays calm under pressure and takes a hands-on approach.
  • Curious and innovation-driven, eager to learn and bring forward new ideas.
  • Capable of managing all project phases, from quotations and coordination to budget control, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Client-focused and commercially aware, able to represent MARIN effectively during ship visits, sea trials, and project meetings.
  • Willing to travel internationally and spend several weeks per year working on board ships or at project sites.
  • Fluent in English, willing to learn Dutch if not already proficient.
