Who will be your colleagues?
You will be working in a team of eight software developers within the Simulation & Visualisation department. Next to your team there are three project managers, two team leaders, three ICT specialists and six project engineers in the department. Together you will be working with colleagues from other MARIN departments.

What are you going to do?
As a lead software test engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and stability of our real-time DOLPHIN simulation software. You will work closely with developers and product owners to design, implement, and execute test strategies - both manual and automated - that support our release cycles and continuous improvement. We currently have one open position for a lead software test engineer, who will take ownership of the testing process and help shape our quality assurance strategy.

The DOLPHIN software drives bridge simulators at MARIN’s Seven Oceans Simulator centre (SOSc) and various third-party facilities around the world. The facilities are used to simulate the full range of maritime operations. Who are we looking for?
  • Minimum of five years of experience in software testing, preferably in real-time or simulation environments.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and tools (Smartbear TestComplete and Atlassian Suite).
  • Experience in testing desktop applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage software engineers to adopt and follow testing procedures.
  • A proactive mindset and attention to detail.

  • The salary will be between € 4.200 and € 5.800 (depending on knowledge and experience).
