WISP2 project on wind propulsion performance prediction methods and manoeuvring

MARIN, together with American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), started the second WiSP Joint Industry Project which has the objective to expand the knowledge base on predictions with wind propulsion and to propose changes and new standards for better rules and regulations. The present paper highlights some developments considering performance prediction before shifting to the main focus: manoeuvring. The methods and results presented in this paper are considered for later submissions to ITTC, IMO MEPC and potentially IMO MSC.
