The capability of the viscous-flow solver PARNASSOS to simulate the flow around a ship in steady oblique motion has been studied. To obtain insight into the reliability and accuracy of the results, grid dependency studies were conducted. Local flow quantities as well as integral variables were compared to measurement values. Two different hull forms were considered: the Series 60 of which extensive flow measurements are available and the KVLCC2M which is the subject of the coming CFD Workshop in Tokyo in 2005.
