Conference/Journal1st International Conference on Fast Sea Transportation (FAST’91), Trondheim, Norway
Date1 Jun 1991
In this paper the characteristics of the roll behaviour of fast ships will be discussed and illustrated. The attention will be focussed on the important lift contribution to the roll damping and the results of the roll damping prediction method of the MARIN computer program ROLLDAMP.
Validation results are given for the Royal Netherlands Navy M-frigate (model tests and full scale trial results), for a 36
m fast patrol boat buit by Singapore Shipbuilding & Engineering (model tests) and for the parent hull form of the Fast Displacement Ship series (model tests), jointly sponsored by the Netherlands, United States and Australian Navies.
