Operational guidance from perspective of SGISC

This work describes the efforts made by MARIN in order to perform vulnerability assessment to a stability failure mode and to elaborate an operational guidance from the perspective of the Second Generation Intact Stability Criteria (SGISC), based on previous experiences from model tests and numerical simulations. Focus is giving to parametric roll due to the needs of the transport and passenger ships. The procedure recommended is a hybrid one, based on numerical simulations carefully tuned on basis of model tests results. A discussion is made of the merits and challenges of the proposed procedure.
