Comparison of manoeuvring simulation programs for SIMMAN test cases

This paper presents comparisons of manoeuvring predictions using several in-house manoeuvring simulation programs available at MARIN. Predictions were made of standard manoeuvres of the ships selected as test cases for the SIMMAN workshop. The test cases comprise two tanker hull forms, a container ship and a destroyer. Based on the comparisons of all predictions, the applicability of each simulation program to the test cases is determined.
