Conference/Journal22nd International Ship and Offshore Structure Conference (ISSC 2025), Wuxi, China
The Environment committee of ISSC 2025 deals with advancements in the description of the ocean environment. We consider the environmental variables waves, currents, wind and ice and their interactions; other variables such as sea water temperature and salinity, soil properties, morphology etc. are not covered. Waves receive the most attention, as they have the largest influence on the performance of ships and floating offshore structures in open waters. The present report presents a selection of the relevant literature, building upon the previous report (Babanin et al., 2022). As the mandate is broad, we decided on some focus areas.
