Registration is open for Wageningen 2025: a Workshop on CFD in Ship Hydrodynamics, taking place in Wageningen, the Netherlands, 17–19 November.
We have submissions from fifty institutions for five different test cases showing the state-of-the-art in our field. At the w2025 workshop (8th edition in this series of CFD workshops), the results will be presented by the case organisers and external experts, followed by plenary discussions of the results. This workshop offers a unique opportunity for professionals and researchers to engage in in-depth discussions on CFD applications in ship hydrodynamics, and to see how the submitted results compare to peer results, experiments, or trials for the selected test cases. You can help shape the tools for the future of ship design and assessment!
Early bird registration (reduced fee of 450€) is available until 3 October, with final registration open until 7 November. Register at https://w2025.nl
About W2025 Since 1980, this workshop has brought together the international CFD community to assess the state-of-the-art in CFD for ship hydrodynamics. Through well-defined test cases, we aim to objectively and quantitatively compare results, enhance physical understanding, improve code development, and strengthen the reliability of CFD for ship design and evaluation. During W2025, results will be discussed in plenary and poster sessions, and informally during breaks — a great opportunity to connect with peers, share insights, and explore the latest developments in CFD methods and applications.
W2025 is organised by Serge Toxopeus (host, MARIN) in cooperation with Fred Stern (chair, University of Iowa), Takanori Hino (secretary, Yokohama National University ), Michel Visonneau ECN-CNRS), and Decheng Wan (Shanghai Jiao Tong University).
