The 21st International Workshop on Trends in Numerical and Physical Modelling for Industrial Multiphase Flows (MULTIPHASE 2026), hosted by the University of Twente and organised by GTT, the University of Twente and MARIN, brought together experts from academia and industry for three days of knowledge exchange, discussion and collaboration on the latest developments in multiphase flow.

The programme featured 37 presentations in 2.5 days, covering topics ranging from fundamental fluid mechanics and numerical modelling to industrial and maritime applications, including cavitation, air lubrication, cryogenic liquid storage, bubble dynamics and flexible propellers.

Sharing insights and ideas

One of the strengths of MULTIPHASE is its combination of fundamental research and practical applications, bringing together numerical, experimental and machine-learning approaches. The workshop provided an excellent opportunity for participants to exchange knowledge, build new connections and explore future collaborations.

Looking ahead

We look back on a highly successful event and would like to thank all speakers and participants for their valuable contributions.
And we look ahead at the next edition of MULTIPHASE taking place in Paris in 2028 and hosted by GTT.
