The Maritime AI Innovation Lab has officially launched with two innovation tracks focused on Safety & Workability and Emission Reduction.

Together with our partners, we are developing solutions that make the maritime sector smarter, faster, and more sustainable. But this is just the beginning. On February 12, 2026, we invite organizations to join new consortia or propose tracks that align with their strategic priorities.

Why participate?

  • Collaborate with leading stakeholders across sectors
  • Co-create agile innovation cycles that turn ideas into solutions quickly
  • Help shape the future roadmap for short-cyclic innovation

Current tracks at a glance:

  • Track 1: Safety & Workability – Machine learning for real-time predictions and short-term MSI forecasts to make offshore operations safer and more efficient.
  • Track 2: Emission Reduction – AI-driven models for fuel optimization and emission reduction under real operational conditions.

In addition, a Professional Doctorate project addresses the legal and ethical aspects of AI and data sharing in the maritime sector, ensuring compliance with European regulations such as the AI Act and Data Act.
