High-school students test multi-body floating islands

Last Friday was not an average day in the office at MARIN when 300+ high school students from CSG Het Streek, Het Erasmus, and Pallas Athene College tested their designs for a multi-body floating island in MARIN’s Concept Basin. The students impressed us with their carefully engineered representations of use functions, such as miniature wind turbines and buildings, and with their clever technical innovations, such as flexible bridges for module crossing. Most islands even survived the most harsh environmental conditions in the basin!
