SYNERGETICS (Synergies for Green Transformation of Inland and Coastal Shipping) addresses the potentials for greening of inland and coastal shipping by means of retrofit. The goal is the provision of a consistent catalogue of developed and ready to deploy retrofit solutions which would facilitate and accelerate the green transformation of inland vessels and coastal ships.
SYNERGETICS (Synergies for Green Transformation of Inland and Coastal Shipping) is an Innovation Action funded by the Horizon Europe programme of the EU which addresses the potentials for greening of inland and coastal shipping by means of retrofit.
SYNERGETICS creates synergies between the leading research institutions in the field of ship hydrodynamics and energy transition, innovation centres and shipping industry associations, shipbuilding industry, regulatory bodies, vessel owners, and technology providers, as well as between different European regions.

What are the SYNERGETICS Objectives
The goal is the provision of a consistent catalogue of developed and ready to deploy retrofit solutions which would facilitate and accelerate the green transformation of inland vessels and coastal ships. Key objectives include creating synergies between stakeholders, reducing greenhouse gas emissions across European waterways, and testing technologies like methanol engines in real-world scenarios.
