Tugs - More than mooring and turning

This paper highlights some aspects of the changed role of tugs with consequences for port design as well as port operation. And more in particular, it emphasises the gains which can be attained through the use of these capabilities, always assuming that they are used to their full extent, which requires good training of tug masters.
