Use your expertise on marine operational performance to improve the performance of ships and offshore structures during operations worldwide.

What are you going to do?
You tackle operational performance issues at sea in the Performance at Sea (PaS) department.  At PaS, we ensure that ships, structures and crews in their daily practice operate cleanly, smartly and safely. To that end we measure, troubleshoot, coach on board and develop algorithms and systems for crews.
You are the first point of contact for our clients. You draw-up project proposals for our clients to improve the performance of ships and offshore structures during operations. You initiate international cooperation projects to tackle overarching performance issues on board, and improve the safety and efficiency. Together with researchers at MARIN you introduce new practices on board and develop technologies including artificial intelligence to improve the performance during operations. You outline on board test procedures and go on board to troubleshoot or coach the crew. You participate in the projects either as project manager or project team member.

Who are we looking for?
An energizing candidate with a master in Marine Transportation/Engineering, Naval Architecture  or similar. You have in-depth knowledge of operations on board. You are experienced in developing and introducing practices and technologies to improve operational performance. You are experienced in managing projects. You have a good understanding of modern IT technology as a stepping stone to develop data-driven solutions. You are familiar with scripting languages as Python. You are entrepreneurial and a team player. You should also have a good command of the English language and be willing to learn Dutch if needed.
