Who will be your colleagues?
You will join our expanding Software Engineering team in the Research and Development department. This department consists of more than 50 researchers and software engineers. The Software Engineering team maintains, improves, and develops research software so it can be reliable used and re-used in research and commercial projects. Furthermore, the Software Engineering team supports other departments within MARIN in their own local developments, e.g. workflow automation.
One of the responsibilities of the Software Engineering team is to exploit our automated CI/CD-pipeline and deliver reliable and validated software to the internal users.
What are you going to do?
As a DevOps Engineer you will interact with specialists and development teams to professionalise their product development. These colleagues can be from the Research and Development department, but also from other departments within MARIN. You will be the link to our IT department for improvements on the technical implementation of our CI/CD-pipeline, and the internal delivery of software.
Your top priority will be to bring our home-grown software in line with our software development policy. This includes further developing our automated CI/CD pipeline and development environments. To do so, you will configure Bamboo build and test plans according to our standards. You will make sure that all builds and tests are running smoothly on both Windows and Linux operating systems. You will keep an eye out for any improvements in the Atlassian software used for our pipeline, or in the standardised development environments. You will discuss changes with our senior developers, and implement and monitor the improvements in our pipeline. For all this, you will develop your own scripts and dashboards.
What do we offer?
A stimulating environment which will allow you to develop yourself while maintaining the freedom to choose your own path.
An attractive salary and benefits package, including our annual profit sharing and excellent pension scheme.
Lifecycle allowance of 5,55% of your gross monthly salary.
29 vacation days (fulltime) + 5 scheduled days between Christmas and New Year.
Plenty of opportunities for your professional development and career advancement.
Development through training courses, further education, and coaching.
Flexibility in working hours and a hybrid working arrangement, to support your work-life balance.
Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a team player with strong analytic skills, and the ability to bring together colleagues with diverse needs and help them reaching an agreement. Preferably several years of experience in using and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Experience in Python scripting and in Windows shell scripts.
