Abstract
A propeller parameterization method and its application to optimize a propeller geometry in an effective wake field is presented. The parameterization is based on an analysis of over 1,250 unique propeller designs in our database and can capture most (conventional) propeller shapes. An analysis of thousands of propellers for a reference case demonstrates a possible improvement of the efficiency by 3% compared to the reference propeller.
