Abstract
This paper addresses the method of manufactured solutions for RANS solvers, i.e. in the context of the calculation of incompressible turbulent flows with eddy viscosity turbulence models. The difficulties caused by damping and/or blending functions included in the turbulence models are discussed. The need to manufacture the turbulence quantities included in the turbulence models is illustrated with an example for the Spalart-Allmaras one-equation model.
