Services & Activities
Our project managers offer services across the complete range of subjects:
- Manoeuvring performance (advice regarding hull form optimisation, appendage design, crabbing and harbour manoeuvring, steering ability, track keeping, towing stability).
- Assessment and verification of compliance with IMO Rules or other manoeuvring standards to aid ship designers, owners and shipyards. Tests are conducted using either free-sailing ship models or simulation software.
Recent complex projects comprise:
- Free sailing submarine tests
- Multi body dynamic tracking
Our project managers are involved in industrial projects and state of the art research and keep abreast of the latest developments. The Ships Manoeuvring experts of MARIN have a broad view on all types of different ship structures, in particular with hopper dredgers, navy vessels including submarines, passenger and cruise vessels, tugs and yachts.
