Participants SPA JIP visit STENA FREIGHTER
On November 21, MARIN launched the Vessel Operator Forum. This event took place during the combined dinner with participants of the Lashing@ Sea and the Service Performance Analysis (SPA) projects, hosted by STENA in Gothenburg.
These two Joint Industry Projects supported by respectively 22 and 23 companies, form the basis of this new platform for R&D and technology development serving ship operations. The Forum is aiming at sharing experiences of vessel owners and operators, the identification of technology demands and the facilitation of Joint Industry Projects.

Meeting schedule
The Vessel Operator Forum will meet every 6 months; meetings will be hosted by one of the participating companies and will comprise JIP progress meetings and an Open Meeting. The next VOF meeting will be hosted on June 4 & 5 by United European Car Carriers in Grimstad, Norway. Progress meetings will be held of STA-Group (Speed Trial Standard), SPA-JIP (Fuel saving in Ship Operation) and Lashing@Sea (Lashing loads for Container, RoRo and Heavy Lift transports). This 2nd Forum will also see the initiative meeting of the TALLSHIP-JIP which addresses the structural response of the new NPX size container vessels.
