Tug Assist Tool – TAT®, easing the task of Tug Allocation
What will be the total Load and how much will be the required Tug Capacity? These questions can be answered on a Job-to-Job basis with only a few mouse clicks on the Tug Assist Tool - TAT® .
Discussions with port authorities, terminal operators, pilot organisations and tug operators pointed out the need to determine the required tug capacity on a job-to-job basis. Clearly, the actual wind and current and under keel clearance must be taken into account.

Program setup
The core of the program is using ship specific wind and current coefficients for various water depths. In combination with ship parameters and the definition of the actual environmental situation, the model will calculate the load and the recommended tug capacity on the forward and aft working points. With this information tugs can be allocated to a particular berthing job. A library with various example vessels is part of the package. Users may add, modify and store other vessels that frequently visit the port.
