During BlueWeek, on May 29, a special workshop is organised by MARIN,TKI Wind op Zee and Gemeente Rotterdam: 'Glimpse on the sustainable future of Shipping & Ocean Energy'.

This workshop is organised to initiate new innovative concepts to accelerate the sustainable exploitation of the ocean and the energy transition in shipping.

  • Multi-use of sustainable offshore assets: future cross use of wind parks with seaweed production, floating solar or fish farming
  • Ocean Energy: sustainable energy production, storage and distribution at sea, main and remote energy production assets, future role of harbours and energy producers
  • Operations and Maintenance in Offshore Wind: Considerations on future ways of performing O&M activities for offshore wind in cooperation with “TKI wind op zee”
  • Zero emission shipping: ships powered by environmental forces and non fossil fuels for river/coastal and trans-oceanic routes, bunkering logistics, offloading strategies for transport, future role of the harbours and shipping companies in the transition
