MARCOL was validated against available full-scale data, as described in the recently-published paper “New collision damage calculation tool used for quantitative risk analysis for LNG import terminals” by Hannes Bogaert and Bart Boon (International Conference of Collision and Grounding of Ships – ICCGS, Hamburg, September 2007). Already, MARCOL has been successfully applied for the Quantitative Risk Analysis of several existing and new LNG terminals in The Netherlands, Europe and the rest of the world.
