On November 19 and 20 CMA-CGM in Marseille hosted the 3rd VOF. The event was attended by more than 50 reprensentatives from ship owners, operators, authorities, R&D and suppliers.
The joint industry projects SPA (operational fuel saving) and Lashing@Sea both had their progress meeting each with more than 30
companies involved. SPA participants welcomed Seatrade, Vroon, Aquametro and Amarcon as new participants and decided positively on the follow-up project SPA-Too. Also an initiative meeting was held on the TALLSHIP-JIP proposal which is aiming at the seakeeping & structural integrity of NPX-size container vessels (12 kTEU) and their future successors (20 kTEU). CMA-CGM shared with all attendees their ideas on the future and their views on the need for technology development.
