In their brand new training centre, CVBA BRABO officially inaugurated their 360˚ manoeuvring simulator last October. The simulator was built and delivered by MARIN and is used by BRABO for training their personnel as well for research of adaptations of the dock infrastructure.
The simulator was inaugurated by the chairman of the “Gemeentelijk Havenbedrijf Antwerpen”, Marc van Peel. CVBA BRABO, a cooperation of pilots and boatmen for the Antwerp docks, has already intensively used its simulator. The leading Towage and Salvage Company for all Dutch and Belgian ports on the river Scheldt (URS) is also training their personnel on the BRABO simulator. This shows the flexibility of this simulator and the diversity of possible missions that can be trained on.
