A new cooperation in the maritime cluster

The Maritime Knowledge Centre (MKC) has been founded mid 2002 to increase cooperation within the public maritime knowledge infrastructure on the fields of fundamental and applied research. MKC is a cooperation between DelftTechnicalUniversity, TNO, MARIN and the RoyalNetherlandsNavalCollege.
Through knowledge development, the MKC wants to make a valuable contribution to the strengthening of the Dutch maritime cluster. Besides that, it wants to increase the attractiveness and quality of maritime education.
MKC reaches these goals through the development, adaptation and integration of new knowledge and technologies. These will be made applicable and will be transferred to the industry. Herewith, MKC contributes to innovation and modernisation, which are of essential importance for the long-term competitiveness of the maritime cluster.
Stimulation of the cooperation between knowledge infrastructure and industry on the fields of fundamental and applied research is a main goal of MKC.

First of all, MKC has chosen for the development of projects within four programmes; the number of programmes will be increased at a later stage.
