Resistance & Propulsion Software
General information
MARIN's ship resistance & propulsion software ranges from initial speed power prediction in the early stages of the design with programs like DESP, to resistance prediction and optimisation of the final hull with RAPID or PARNASSOS. On the propeller side of the design calculation are performed with programs like SCREW or in a later and more advanced stadium with PROCAL.
Software developments are always based on the model basin experiments or full-scale trials of MARIN, ensuring that validation remains a primary objective.
