Design and sailing contest (2012)

Design the fastest sailing model sail boat of The Netherlands
Together with Delft University of Technology (TUDelft) and INHOLLAND, the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) again organised a design and sail contest on January 20th 2012. The aim of this contest was to design, manufacture and sail the fastest model sailing boat in Wageningen.

The results of this contest are as follows:

The Fastest Boat
The contest was won by Team X from the TU Delft with a boat with two aerorigs. Joost Doude van Troostwijk, Matthijs Gawehn, Ilan de Keersmaecker and Casper Rensen built a fast boat which proved to have good speed down and upwind and was also well sailed.

Team 10 in the finals

Innovation Prize
An additional prize was available for the most innovative design. This prize was awarded to the Atilgan, by theTUDelft team 1 consisting of Murat lmat, Jeroen Kunnen, Thomas Mohren and Tom Wiegerinck. SubZero was awarded this prize because they managed to build a boat with wingsail at high quality which also worked very well.
